About Tessallation

Tessellations are drawings that don’t overlap or have gaps one way to make them is to draw a closed figure whatever figure. Then you cut out a figure on the shape then you either tape it or glue it you can take the figure that you cut out and translate it where ever you want. When that is done then you just place them so that it creates a pattern that it doesn’t overlap or have gaps so when you’re done making the pattern with your tessellation. Make sure that it looks nice and double check for gaps or overlaps. Then when you’re done checking just add color to it so it looks nice and color it with more than one color.

My Finished T-shirt

My tessellation T-shirt was made using a tessellation using a little pentagon when you cut a pentagon on the bottom side of the square and you put on top of the square. I used the pattern to cover the front of the T-shirt. Then our math teacher was cool enough to let us cover the back of the T-shirt with whatever we wanted to put just not inappropriate so i drew a cool tribal design on the left sleeve. Then i decided to draw a cool big star on the back of the T-shirt and in the right sleeve i drew a Chinese letter meaning strength.

Making a Tessellation Shirt

First you make sure that you made a good tessellation then cut it out of the paper and then use the cut out to make a lot also then make sure you trace your tessellation with a permanent marker. So now you get a hanger then you stuff newspaper inside of the t-shirt so the paint wont trespass to the other side of the. Now you put the paper inside the  shirt then trace it with permanent marker. So when it dries now you get paint and spray alcohol on the tessellation then spray vinegar. Now you paint it with a spray can.

Introduction

In my math class we are using tessellation's to create a T- shirt. Do you know what a Tessellation is? A Tessellation is a closed figure that is used to create a pattern and it can not overlap or have gaps. You can use more than one figure but it must take up all of the space. To create a simple tessellation you draw a square then just cut out a little triangle then you translate the triangle either horizontal or vertical but not diagonal. Next you just keep drawing it so it doesn't overlap or have gaps. So by now you should know more about tessellation.
